Job summary

Merrimack College in Massachusetts seeks an accomplished senior leader to serve as Associate Vice President for Advancement Communications, Marketing and Campaign Director. You will guide strategy, messaging and engagement for Merrimack's Together We Rise campaign, aligning communications with fundraising goals and alumni relations.

Reporting to the CAO, you will manage editorial calendars, lead content production, collaborate with college communications and advancement services, and supervise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in advancement communications, marketing, campaign communications, fundraising, alumni engagement, strategic communications or related field.
• Significant experience supporting, planning or managing a comprehensive fundraising campaign strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing campaign cases for support, campaign narratives, messaging frameworks and integrated fundraising communications and marketing strategies.
• Experience developing communications and marketing strategies for alumni, donors, prospects, parents or other constituent audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Together We Rise comprehensive fundraising campaign as director.
• Lead campaign planning, organization, implementation, communications, marketing and evaluation.
• Develop and maintain an integrated campaign plan with timelines, milestones and audience strategies.
• Partner with senior leadership to establish campaign priorities, goals and strategies.
• Develop and maintain the Together We Rise case for support, campaign narrative, key messages and communications strategy.
• Ensure campaign priorities are clearly articulated and aligned with Merrimack’s priorities.
• Lead communications and marketing supporting campaign launches, leadership gifts and milestones.
• Maintain campaign visibility and momentum throughout the campaign lifetime.
• Collaborate with institutional advancement and college communications to extend stories across channels.
