Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Columbia, SC seeks an Advanced Project Manager to oversee medium complexity projects or portions of complex efforts, with 5 years of PM experience. You will manage scope, schedule and cost, lead a 5–10 person team, and may support proposal efforts as a Inputs Lead.

This role is 100% onsite with a PMO reporting line. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field, PMP or equivalent, and strong familiarity with MS Project and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related technical field.
• 5 years of project management experience on medium to high complexity projects (3+2 rule).
• Advanced Project Manager qualification or PMP (or equivalent) certification.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and knowledge of procurement and material management is desirable.
• Strong scheduling and cost management; MS Project and Primavera P6 experience required.

Responsibilities

• Complete planning with project scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
• Oversee project execution and allocate team members to deliver work.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources and communications.
• Prepare cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations (Earned Value).
• Review expenditures for adherence to baselines and scope.
• Develop project databases and documentation workflows for the team.
• Close projects by updating financial, scheduling and document systems; serve as customer liaison.

As an Advanced Project Manager, you will be responsible for all project management processes on medium complexity projects or on a portion of complex projects. Oversee small to medium team sizes (average 5-10 team members) May serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for the medium complexity proposal projects as assigned. May be assigned overall project manager responsibility of a complex project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of a Program Manager or higher). You will report to the Project Manager Office Manager and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
• Assume overall responsibility for success of projects. Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work.
• Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and partners through use of delegates/support as applicable. Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to teams following an integrated change management process.
• Prepare or oversee project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including Earned Value Management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements.
• Review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope.
• Develop or oversee project databases and systems to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
• Close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools.
• Be the single representative to customer, architect engineer, constructor and Westinghouse departments to support project. Interpret and transmit contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to departments. Integrate project's goals and actions through participation with other project groups in matters of common concern.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
• 5 years of experience as project manager leading and directing medium or high complexity projects to successful completion. We may consider 3 years in technical/engineering role and 2 years as project manager as equivalent.
• Westinghouse Advanced Project Manager qualification completed. For external candidate, PMP (Project Management Professional), or equivalent certification, or meet eligibility requirements.
• Experience with project management in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with manufacturing business practices including knowledge of operations, maintenance and engineering practices, knowledge of procurement processes and material management are desirable but not required
• Well-versed in Schedule Theory and Cost Management; experience with MS Project required and Primavera P6.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
