Renown Health is seeking an Advanced Wound Care Specialist‑RN to lead wound/ostomy care for inpatients and outpatients. You will educate patients, coordinate care with providers, and support staff development in wound/ostomy practices.
Responsibilities include debridement, ostomy care, infection prevention, and implementing best practices. Requires BSN within 3 years, two years of nursing experience, and Nevada RN licensure with BLS certification.
The Advanced Wound Care Specialist‑RN, in conjunction with the Providers and clinical manager, provides direction and coordination of wound / ostomy services to inpatients, outpatients, and their caregivers and assures that patient education is appropriate to the developmental stage and age of the patients served. The specialist RN also provides support and education to the staff of Renown Health System involved in wound / ostomy care.

This position is challenged to diagnose and treat human responses to health problems. The incumbent is accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
When possible, the family or those significant to the family, are considered part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of the advanced wound care specialist. It is the incumbents' responsibility to coordinate care between other professional disciplines as needed to comprehensively address individual patient needs.
The incumbent must demonstrate the expert knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and meets standards of quality as measured by the department age specific competency standards.

Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelors of Science in Nursing BSN required within 3 years of hire.
Experience: Two years of general nursing experience and clinical nursing experience required.
License(s): Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
Certification(s): Requires current BLS certification by the American Heart Association at time of hire.
Certification in wound, continence and/or ostomy (CWN, CWON, CWOCN, CON, CCN, COCN, CWCN, WCC, CFCN or CWS) and/or foot and nail services (CFNC) is required within 3.5 years of hire.
CFNC required for providing foot and nail services.
Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job‑specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
