Amentum seeks a skilled telecom technician to support the Savannah River Site's O&M Telecommunication contract, installing, maintaining, and repairing Avaya, VoIP, and related telecom gear.

You will interpret wiring diagrams, terminate cables, test systems, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site in Aiken, SC. The role requires 3–5 years of experience and U.S. citizenship with DOE clearance eligibility.

Job description

Purpose and Impact:

DOE Savannah River Site (SRS) processes and stores nuclear materials in support of national defense and U.S. nuclear nonproliferation efforts. The site also develops and deploys technologies to improve the environment and treat solid and liquid nuclear and hazardous waste left from the Cold War. While current missionsremainthe highest priority, SRS leadership placesgreat importanceon developing broader missions for SRS that use its unique capabilities to address critical national missions. The Operation and Maintenance operator is Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), as a Subcontractor to SRNS, Amentum Technology Inc. (ATI) provides telecommunications system operation and maintenance services as well as site operator services at SRS. This position supports operation and maintenance program managing the voice and data services at the Savannah River site.

Essential Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair all telecom equipment at SRS in support of the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS) O&M Telecommunication’s contract.

Responsibilities include:

• Interpret Work Orders and Trouble Tickets, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair Avaya digital, analog, VoIP, and speakerphones.
• Install and terminate Cat5E/Cat6/Cat6A cable (on 110, 66, and wire wrap termination blocks), cross boxes and central office cross connections.
• Be able to discuss/demonstrate knowledge of 4 pair color code.
• Install and terminate patch panels (loaded and unloaded), jacks, and faceplates.
• Test cables, translate test results, and download test results from scanner to computer.
• Install cross-connects for data and voice jacks. Installing voice cross-connects would benefit from knowledge of 25 pair color code.
• Maintain material inventory on vehicles, tools, test equipment and assigned vehicle.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following codes and standards.
• Reporting documentation on safety, security, quality and billing.
• Be able to pass and receive a Security Clearance.

Compensation Details:
