Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an Sr Advanced Systems Engineer to design, develop, and deploy sophisticated aerospace systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to meet demanding technical requirements and improve system performance across aerospace applications.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and operate from Redmond, WA on a Hybrid schedule. The role emphasizes collaboration, system integration of hardware, software, and networks, and ensuring scalable, robust aerospace

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical/Mechanical/Materials/Physics)
  • US Citizenship is required due to contract
  • 5+ years of related experience in aerospace/defense or similar field

Responsibilities

  • Perform numeric evaluation of design, integration, and qualification activities for inertial navigation products
  • Evaluate sensor and system performance, including understanding RAV metrics
  • Lead trade studies and issue resolution (FMEA, RCCA) activities
  • Prepare, review, approve, and present technical documentation for internal and external customers
  • Act as technical focal with internal customers supporting new product development
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, test)
  • Support system design reviews (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) with stakeholders
  • Conduct flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessments, and solution development
  • Create system documents (requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, test plans, certification docs)

As an Sr Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated systems that drive innovation and efficiency across diverse aerospace applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet complex technical requirements and enhance system performance in the aerospace sector.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Redmond, WA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development and deployment of advanced aerospace systems that support Honeywell’s Aerospace commitment to technological excellence and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will contribute to the optimization and integration of hardware, software, and network components, ensuring robust and scalable aerospace solutions.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform numeric evaluation of product design, integration, and qualification activities for new inertial navigation products for internal R&D and customer funded programs
  • Evaluate sensor & system performance – ex: reading and understanding Root Alan Variance (RAV)
  • Lead trade studies and issue resolution (e.g. FMEA, RCCA) activities
  • Prepare, review, approve, and present technical documentation and deliverables to internal and external customers
  • Function as a technical focal with internal customers supporting new product development and communicating technical status
  • Execute in a cross-functional team setting (interfacing with mechanical, electrical, software, test, etc.)
  • Support system design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) with internal and external customers
  • Perform customer flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development
  • Create system documents development, including but not limited to system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, Performance Verification Test Plan Procedure, Certification documents
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related field

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense programs and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of the systems development lifecycle

  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage cross-functionally to meet deliverables
  • Ability to adapt dictated by project changes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of software development as an engineering discipline, including some programming skills
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$165,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
