Job summary

The Salvation Army Tucson is seeking an aquatic instructor to teach and supervise swimming lessons for participants of all ages. You will design lesson plans, demonstrate proper techniques, and maintain a safe, engaging environment while following Red Cross guidelines.

Strong communication with staff and a flexible, timely approach are essential. Applicants should be comfortable leading groups and managing class schedules and activities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Preferred 1 year of aquatic instruction experience.
• Encouraged to secure WSI certification.
• Must obtain American Red Cross CPR certification within 60 days.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in aquatics using American Red Cross guidelines.
• Design instructional programs, create lesson plans, and prepare materials.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and maintain safety during all classes.
• Present subject matter to groups of varying ages with poise and enthusiasm.
• Maintain a safe, fun learning environment and ensure clear communication with supervision.
