Honeywell Aerospace US LLC is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer – Display Services in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role involves developing, integrating, and verifying display software for the Next Generation Avionics Platform.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement rigorous software solutions, and conduct code reviews to meet performance and security requirements. This position starts onsite for 90 days, then transitions to a hybrid schedule (3/2).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or related experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong C++ or OO programming skills.

Job description

As an Advanced Software Engineer – Display Services here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work in a fast-paced and exciting development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will work the first 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid (3/2) schedule.

Travel, up to 15%, may be expected - within US and/or internationally

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for development, systems integration, and verification of core Display applications to be hosted on the Next Generation Avionics Platform
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
• Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Testing and Integration on test benches in labs.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline Software Engineering degree or related experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong C++ or Object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Strong software architecture and design development skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

• Multi-core / multi-thread development experience.
• Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
• Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++.

• Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
• Creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
• Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
• Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS NG, and Confluence
