Job summary

Honeywell’s Security and Access Solutions group is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Cloud Solutions team in Pittsford, NY or Atlanta, GA on a hybrid schedule. You will build internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, and automation frameworks to help product teams deliver software faster and more reliably.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in software engineering, experience with CI/CD, cloud and microservices, and a passion for automation.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field required, significant technical experience can be substituted.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience building automated delivery pipelines.
• Experience with at least one language (TypeScript/JavaScript/C#/Python/Java).
• Familiarity with event-driven and microservices architectures.
• RESTful API experience for data exchange and service integration.
• Shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Git or similar version control experience.
• Passion for automation and strong communication; team collaboration.

We are seeking a skilled software engineer with a strong background in automation and orchestration, along with a passion for enhancing developer experience, to join our Cloud Solutions group. In this role, you will build internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, automation frameworks, and engineering workflows that enable product teams to deliver software faster and more reliably.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, able to navigate ambiguity, and capable of driving technical initiatives with minimal supervision. This role requires collaboration with a global team to support our Azure-hosted security products and platforms. The person in this position will work closely with the engineering team throughout all stages of product development. The contributions of this role will be vital in ensuring the highest levels of reliability, availability, and performance as demanded by our customers who rely on our advanced physical security solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead initiatives to improve developer productivity, deployment reliability, and engineering efficiency across multiple product teams.

• Develop tools to enhance the full development process from design to production.

• Measure and improve engineering productivity and satisfaction.

• Relentlessly prioritize delivery speed and reliability to drive engineering efficiency across the team.

• Design, build, and evolve CI/CD platforms leveraging Jenkins, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.

• Design and maintain infrastructure as code to guarantee consistent and efficient continuous delivery across various environments for a SaaS solution.

• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues across both development and production environments.

• Leverage data and metrics to support decision making.

• Build operational maturity through automation.

YOU MUST HAVE

• BS Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field required, significant technical experience can be substituted.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience building automated delivery pipelines.

• Experience developing or maintaining software in at least one language (TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python, Java etc.).

• Familiarity with event-driven and microservices architectures.

• Experience with RESTful API endpoints to facilitate seamless data exchange and integration between various applications and services.

• Familiarity with shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

• Understanding of Git or similar version management tools.

• Passion for automation.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Enjoy working on a collaborative team.

WE VALUE

• Experience with developer productivity tooling, platform engineering, observability, or internal developer platforms.

• Experience developing and maintaining applications on Microsoft Azure.

• Experience with PowerShell, NodeJS, Kusto, or Groovy.

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos, Dynamo, Redis or similar).

• Knowledge of both serverless and container-based application deployment models.

The annual base salary range for this position is $121,000.00 - $151,00.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
