Job summary

Light & Wonder seeks a Senior Data Engineer to resolve technical issues and design robust data architectures for on-site Las Vegas systems.

You will use MSBI, SQL Server, Tableau, ETL pipelines, and development languages to deliver reliable solutions and dashboards, while mentoring teammates. The role emphasizes gaming domain expertise and collaboration across engineering and customer support.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
• Strong knowledge of the MSBI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and SharePoint.
• Advanced scripting for T-SQL and performance tuning of high-volume queries in SQL Server.
• Tableau Server Administration and Tableau Dashboards design.
• Developing ETL, Data Marts, Datawarehouse, reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• .NET, C++, JSON, RabbitMQ, NGNX.
• Casino Gaming domain experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical system resolutions to customer issues.
• Support and troubleshoot customer and employee technical problems to determine if the problem is hardware, software, or procedural.
• Provide customer satisfaction through timely technical support responses with efficient resolutions.
• Follow up with customers, provide regular updates and ensure all system issues are resolved.
• Maintain and update knowledge base on a regular basis to keep up with technology innovations.
• Maintain an understanding of system and product methodology and technical functionality of systems.
• Utilize excellent customer service skills to defuse difficult customer situations and exceed expectations.
• Recommend procedure modifications or improvements based on client business needs and systems.
• Continuously implement company standards and design patterns to develop robust software.
• Work with engineers to guide software architecture and coding standards.

• Work closely with other engineers to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of software architecture, coding standards, and technical system related issues.


• Work as team mentor in a multi‑person development team.


• Review and verify the work of engineers, designers, or technicians.

Qualifications

Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Information Systems or related field.

Must have functional knowledge of the following:

• MSBI Stack including SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint


• Advanced scripting for T‑SQL stored procedures, performance tuning of complex, high‑volume queries and Administrative experience in SQL Server


• Tableau Server Administration and Tableau Dashboards design


• Developing ETL, Data Marts, Datawarehouse, reports, dashboards and KPIs


• .NET, C++, JSON, RabbitMQ, NGNX


• Casino Gaming domain
