Job summary

Red River Science & Technology, LLC in Fort Knox, KY is seeking a Small Arms Repairer to inspect, maintain, and repair small arms, determine malfunctions, and ensure proper tolerance and function.

The role requires hands-on repair of rifles, pistols, carbines and other weapons, use of manuals to troubleshoot, and coordination with the lead repairer. Applicants must meet security requirements and be prepared for on-site work 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter; able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in weapons maintenance and repair, including semi-automatic, automatic, and burst capable weapons.
• Related weapons maintenance and repair formal training may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
• Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.

Responsibilities

• Test, recondition, troubleshoot, and repair all assigned small arms including fully automatic machine guns and related equipment.
• Uses technical manuals, parts lists, Maintenance Bulletins, TACOM Messages, etc. to determine trouble and replaces defective parts as directed.
• Perform operations checks using technical manuals and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with the advised lead repairer on maintenance status, equipment requirements, problem areas and corrective action.
• Disassembles the weapons to locate misalignment or malfunctioning components; ensures safe, accurate operation.
• Performs quality inspection and assurance tests on the weapons.
• Make repairs to rifles, pistols, carbines, mounts, and shotguns, etc.
• This position supports the DoD on federal installation; must be available to work on-site during business hours 7:30AM – 4:30PM (M-F).
• May require weekends and holidays, overtime may be required.
