Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking an Engineering Technician 4 to partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF plasma generators.

You will report to a Systems Engineering Manager and contribute to high-precision test setups and analyses. Qualified candidates have an Associate degree or equivalent and 4+ years of related experience, with hands-on skills on oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF instruments, and PCBA schematics

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF instruments.
• Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot new RF generator designs.
• Test and troubleshoot new PCBAs to validate performance.
• Conduct failure analysis on returned units, determine what is failed and make observations or measurements to identify root cause.
• Build test setups for specialized experiments.
