Job summary

Quinault Wellness Center is seeking a Psychiatric ARNP to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and integrated behavioral health services in our outpatient setting on the Washington coast. You’ll work with a collaborative team including physicians, counselors, and SUD professionals to guide patients through recovery with trauma-informed, evidence-based care.

The role requires WA ARNP license, RN license, BLS, and strong pharmacology knowledge.

Qualifications

  • ARNP license in good standing (WA)
  • RN license in good standing
  • BLS certification required or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and pharmacology
  • Substance use disorders evidence-based approaches
  • Trauma-informed care and ethical practice

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new and established patients.
  • Provide medication management and crisis intervention.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and ongoing psychiatric care.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications per WA state and federal rules.
  • Collaborate with therapists, SUD professionals, PCPs, and psychiatrists.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions and meds.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and participate in QA activities.

Working alongside physicians, counselors, behavioral health clinicians, and substance use disorder professionals, you'll help patients navigate their recovery through compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based care.This position offers the opportunity to care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders while making a lasting impact on both patients and the community.What You'll DoAs a Psychiatric ARNP, you will:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new and established patients.Perform medication assessments, medication management, and crisis intervention.Develop individualized treatment and service plans based on patient assessments.Provide therapeutic interventions and ongoing psychiatric care.Prescribe psychotropic medications in accordance with Washington State and federal regulations.Interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing, including EKGs, renal function testing, and medication serum levels.Collaborate closely with Mental Health Counselors, SUD Professionals, Primary Care Providers, and consulting Psychiatrists to coordinate patient-centered treatment plans.Educate patients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding psychiatric conditions and medications.Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant electronic medical documentation.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings.Assist in developing evidence-based clinical protocols and best practices.Required QualificationsLicensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in good standing with the State of Washington.Current Washington Registered Nurse (RN) license.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Strong knowledge of:Psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacologySubstance use disorders and evidence-based treatment approachesBehavioral health assessment and therapeutic interventionsMedical conditions affecting psychiatric careWorking knowledge of:HIPAA42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirementsWashington State RCWs and WACsExcellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.Commitment to ethical practice, professional boundaries, and trauma-informed care.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations while recognizing the impacts of historical trauma, culture, family systems, and community experiences on wellness and recovery.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office software.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in:Substance Use Disorder TreatmentMedication Assisted Treatment (MAT)Outpatient Behavioral HealthPrimary CareExperience working within integrated care or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).License RequirementsCurrent Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license.Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.Valid Washington State Driver's License.Must be insurable under the organization's vehicle insurance policy.Physical RequirementsThis position is primarily performed in a clinical office environment and requires frequent computer use, documentation, patient interaction, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving materials.
