Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an Advanced Registered Dietitian to assess and intervene nutritionally for oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will develop nutrition care plans, collaborate with medical teams, and support telemedicine initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Candidates should have 7+ years of clinical dietitian experience (oncology preferred), a BS in nutrition, and current Dietetic Registration. Position offers hybrid schedule with possible home work days.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of clinical dietitian experience (oncology experience and/or advanced degree may reduce minimum years).
• Bachelor of Science in nutritional science.
• Maintenance of Dietetic Registration.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional status and intervene with medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education.
• Formulate and implement nutrition care plans based on assessments.
• Each RD will manage a minimum of 12 patients daily.
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of care plans.
• Document nutrition care information in patient records.
• Counsel and educate on nutritional support to patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with medical staff to plan and deliver care.
• Monitor inpatient foodservice to ensure diet orders and quality standards.
• Assist with monthly foodservice in-service education.
• Sign off on inpatient foodservice competencies and menus.
• Integrate nutrition services into hospital-wide QAPI and infection control.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

• Responsible for assessing patients' nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education to improve, maintain, or optimize nutritional status.
• Formulate and implement nutritional care plans based on assessment of patients' nutritional needs, diet restrictions, nutrition support and physician care plans.
• Each RD will be able to manage a minimum of 12 patients daily.
• Monitor and evaluates effectiveness of patients care plan.
• Document thoroughly and appropriately all nutrition care information in patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate on nutritional support and nutritional management to patients and their families, physicians, paraprofessionals, the community and potential candidates for hire within the corporation.
• Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and other hospital employees to plan and implement patient care as necessary in meeting the nutritional needs of patients.
• Monitor inpatient foodservice operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards.
• Assist with monthly foodservice in-service education.
• Sign off on foodservice competencies for inpatient meal delivery.
• Approve inpatient menus.
• Monitor foodservice operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards.
• Integrate food and dietetic services into the hospital wide QAPI and infection control programs.
• Responsible for clinical nutrition and nutrition support in coordination with the use of Telemedicine and the use of other nutritional services for patient care needs internally and externally as designated by COH.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of clinical dietician experience [oncology experience and/or advanced degree may reduce minimum years] or Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO)
• Education: Bachelor of Science in nutritional science
• Licensure: Maintenance of Dietetic Registration
