The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc.–Gastroenterology & Hepatology in New Berlin, WI is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver specialty outpatient GI care. The APP will work in a multidisciplinary GI team, perform procedures as needed, and participate in quality outcomes evaluation.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of ambulatory gastroenterology experience and hold Wisconsin RN and APNP licenses or NCCPA qualification for PA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience with gastroenterology patients in ambulatory setting.
  • Certification as Adult Care NP and/or Acute Care NP; Wisconsin RN and APNP prescriber licenses.
  • Certification by NCCPA for Physician Assistants; DEA; BLS/ACLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for diagnosis and treatment in outpatient GI care.
  • Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests; document findings.

Advanced Practitioner (NP/PA) - Community Gastroenterology - Outpatient

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department/Division/Program of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the outpatient setting. This position is located in New Berlin, WI at Moorland Reserve Health Center. The APP will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, and will ensure an environment of safe, patient-centered, quality care.

Position Highlights
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in diagnosis & treatment of conditions requiring medical intervention in an outpatient setting and as a member of the GI team
  • Order, perform, & interpret screening and diagnostic procedures & tests, and communicate and document information
  • Facilitate & communicate with patients, families, & staff to promote continuity of care
  • Perform procedures as needed
  • Evaluate quality outcomes for patients receiving care
  • Attend required training and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Acquire information on current trends in the APP field via educational programs, inservices, professional associates, and literature
Schedule

Full time, 1.0 fte position with expectations for covering during core business hours (primarily 8 am - 5 pm), and flexibility required as needed to accommodate patient &/or business needs. Salaried (Exempt) status.

Qualifications
  • Highly Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of experience with gastroenterology patients in an ambulatory setting; Certification as an Adult Care NP and/or Acute Care NP.
  • Minimum Requirements: Advanced Practice Nurse / Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner | Wisconsin RN License | Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License.
Certification Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization.
  • BLS ACLS (within 90 days of hire).
  • DEA.
  • Physician Assistant: Wisconsin Physician Assistant License.
  • C. Certification Requirements: Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
