Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide night-time specialty care for the Transplant Surgery service.

The APP will provide care for patients of the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Transplant Service Line located in Milwaukee, WI as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required for APRNs or Physician Assistant Studies degree for PAs.
• BLS certification required; DEA eligibility.
• APRN licensure in Wisconsin or PA licensure as applicable.
• NCCPA certification for PAs or APRN certification for NPs; AGACNP/FNP considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide nocturnal care for the Transplant Surgery service.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for diagnosis, treatment, and care planning.
• Coordinate preoperative and postoperative care with continuity across the care continuum.
• Educate patients and families about preoperative and postoperative care.
• Participate in quality improvement, education, and research within the transplant program.

Position Summary:

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide night-time specialty care for the Transplant Surgery service. The APP will provide care for patients of the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Transplant Service Line located in Milwaukee, WI as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Advanced Practice Provider will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality, improvement, and teaching while delivering high-quality overnight coverage.

Position Highlights:

Collaborate with interdisciplinary Health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of Kidney/Pancreas and Liver Program patients as a member of the Transplant Surgery team Manage the transplant population including evaluation and preoperative care, as well as follow up postoperative care and coordination of on-going care Develop expertise in cross continuum care management and treatment interventions specific to this patient population Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative care Facilitate and communicate patient, family and other care organizations to promote continuity across the continuum of care Evaluate quality outcomes for the patients under the care of transplant surgery care teams through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes Collaborate with other consultative care teams and the primary team in the management of Kidney and Liver disease.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience: Previous experience working within Transplant Surgery is preferred Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization. Minimum Requirements: BLS Certified (American Heart Association Basic Life Support) DEA Eligibility Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Wisconsin APRN Licensure APRN Certification Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization or historical certification equivalent Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP) Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU. Physician Assistant Wisconsin Physician Assistant License Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) #LI-KD1.
