The University of Miami Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive medical care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The APRN may examine, diagnose, treat, and order tests, with opportunities to prescribe medications and guide patient care planning.

In this part-time, temporary-intermittent role, you will perform age-appropriate exams, order and interpret tests, and support patient transitions across care settings while adhering to university

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients. The APRN is also examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. May prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care.

• 3. Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
• 4. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
• 5. Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
• 6. Assists with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
• 7. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
• 8. Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
• 9. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
• 10. Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
• 11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

• Education: Master's degree in relevant field required
• Experience: No previous experience required
• Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida APRN license required
