Summary & Objective

The Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a highly trained nurse who has advanced clinical training beyond that of a registered nurse (RN). APRNs have a broader scope of practice, including diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing patient care. APRNs work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to provide comprehensive patient care.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

• Clear and Active Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state of Florida
• CPR certification
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in a Health Care Facility
• Must have knowledge of computer office/clinical software
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

Essential Functions

• Perform a patient assessment to include medical history and physical exam, and in collaboration with the physician, develop an appropriate plan of care in the direct management of patients.
• Assists in the medical diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic diseases.
• Responsibly coordinate patient care and treatment plans with physicians, staff, partners, and across all service lines.
• Participate in the collection of research data.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and studies as they relate to the educational needs of the organization.
• Integrate current knowledge of professional issues, trends in healthcare and technological advances into scope of practice.
• Collaborate with Management in researching and preparing continuing education units (CEU's) for staff.
• Participate in staff and committee meetings and performs other duties as assigned by Senior Manager.
• Ensure effective communication within the Palliative Care Team as well as with physicians, staff, partners, and across all service lines.

• Ability to extend hospitality and patience while assisting patients, families, physicians and peers under stressful circumstances.
• Consistently able to work calmly and maintain effectiveness in situations of high stress.
• Ability to travel to any location throughout Miami-Dade County and Broward County as needed and expand territory as business needs dictate
• Maintain your required licenses, certifications and mandatory skill updates.
• Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Provide other duties of healthcare team member
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

• May serve as an interim department leader depending on need

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stair or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.
