Job description

Summary Statement

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse plays a pivotal role in evaluating incarcerated individuals for early medical release under Delaware's Compassionate release framework. This includes reviewing medical records, reviewing assessments, conferring with medical staff and preparing clinical summaries and prognoses that inform sentence modification decisions. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse ensures evaluations are consistent with Delaware law, DOC policy and ethical standards of care.

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.

  • Knowledge of Advanced Pathophysiology and Pharmacology to assess treatment plans for disease processes
  • Experience in chart reviews for regulatory compliance and healthcare standards as they relate to a facility's ability to provide care for patients.
  • Experience in healthcare quality assurance, process improvement, evidence-based practice, or related roles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

  • Possession of a Delaware Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or temporary permit for a Delaware Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in Family Nurse Practitioner.
