Responsible for providing health care for patients in designated primary or specialty area, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals. Serves as a resource and role model for clinical practice, training, evaluation, and direct management of practitioners and students to ensure optimal patient care. Assist leadership in assessing, planning, organizing, and implementing designated advanced practice provider activities.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by ARC-PA.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Master's Degree in Nursing accredited through CCNE or ACEN.
2+ years of clinical experience as an Advance Practice Provider (APP) in any field.
May substitute experience for education requirements.
Must have current healthcare provider BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network. Must meet licensing and registration requirements as per Medical Staff policies.
Physician Assistant: Current, valid Texas Physician Assistant licensure and certification by NCCPA.
APRN (Nurse Practitioner): Current RN licensure from Texas or valid Compact license, with authorization to practice as a Family, Adult, Gerontology, or related Nurse Practitioner, plus active certification by ANCC or AANPCP.
Certified Nurse Midwife: Current RN licensure, APRN licensure as Nurse Midwife, and certification by AMCB.
Clinical Nurse Specialist: Current RN licensure, APRN licensure as CNS, and certification as Adult or Psychiatric Mental Health CNS by ANCC or AACNCC.
None specified beyond certifications.
