An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Urology team. This role involves providing comprehensive care to pre- and post-operative urology patients while collaborating with urology residents and medical staff. Summary:
Under the medical supervision of the Urology Residency Site Director or delegated urologic physician and administratively under the Administrative Director of the MIUI, performs a variety of duties related to the care and management of pre- and post-operative urology patients. Works collaboratively within a team environment supporting the academic mission to train urology residents. All essential functions performed in this position address the age-specific needs of patients.
Basic Knowledge: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with an MS degree, certified by the ANA or AANP with prescriptive privileges, including narcotics, or a Physician Assistant with a master's degree and NCCPA certification. Must have completed AHA BLS/ACLS courses.
Experience: Experience in general urology, surgery, and ER procedures is preferred but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Involves working with medical equipment, direct patient contact, potential hazards mitigated by safety procedures, standing/walking intermittently, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Independent Action: Performs independently within broad departmental policies, consulting only for clarification as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
