Job summary

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (NP program) is required.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license and RN license are required.
  • Experience: <2 years is listed; 2–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients, performs advanced health assessments, diagnoses, and develops plans of care under physician supervision.
  • Coordinates patient care across services and educates patients and families.
  • Develops treatment plans and manages acute conditions following established protocols.

Shift Information
  • 10 hour Shifts (30, 35, 40 hours weekly) available
  • 7:30A to 6:00P M-F
  • No Call! No Holidays! No Weekends!
  • Primary location Barnes Jewish Hospital-work at secondary location 1-2 times per month
  • A true work/life balance, no charting or calls after hours
  • NOTE: Rate of pay listed is based on a 40 hour per week schedule

Role Purpose

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care area. This position assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).

Responsibilities
  • Participates in professional development
  • Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
  • Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
  • Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
  • Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
