Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider for its Pediatric Development Program. The role involves providing evidence-based patient care, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate must hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies, must be eligible for medical staff credentialing, and should have strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is credentialed by the medical staff and functions within their scope of practice in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with organizational medical staff bylaws. They are responsible for providing evidence-based care for the management of patients, including assessment, implementation, and evaluation of a detailed plan of care, which incorporates diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The APP demonstrates competency in providing age-appropriate care to patients as defined by certification and training and provides family centered care to meet family needs, including psychological support, education and discharge planning in conjunction with other related disciplines.
The APP initiates, participates and collaborates with divisional and organizational multi-disciplinary staff to provide and support evidence-based education, quality improvement and research. They participate in professional and organizational activities that contribute to improving patient care, the scientific knowledge base of advanced practice, program operation, and individual professional development. The APP provides leadership within their respective clinical area through participation in division projects and mentorship of others. They contribute to department and organization wide initiatives, representing advanced practice and promoting the role of the advanced practice provider.
Minimum Education
Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner – Master’s or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required.
Physician Assistant – Master’s or Doctoral degree of Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist – Master’s or Doctorate degree in the clinical specialty area in which they practice from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required (Required).
