Pay Range: $110,052.80 – $183,414.40

About the Role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is credentialed by the medical staff and functions within their scope of practice in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with organizational medical staff bylaws. They are responsible for providing evidence‑based care for the management of patients, including assessment, implementation, and evaluation of a detailed plan of care, which incorporates diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The APP demonstrates competency in providing age‑appropriate care to patients as defined by certification and training and provides family‑centered care to meet family needs, including psychological support, education, and discharge planning in conjunction with other related disciplines.

The APP initiates, participates, and collaborates with divisional and organizational multidisciplinary staff to provide and support evidence‑based education, quality improvement, and research. They participate in professional and organizational activities that contribute to improving patient care, the scientific knowledge base of advanced practice, program operation, and individual professional development. The APP provides leadership within their respective clinical area through participation in division projects and mentorship of others. They contribute to department and organization‑wide initiatives, representing advanced practice and promoting the role of the advanced practice provider.

Minimum Education
  • Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required
  • Master's or Doctoral degree of Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in the clinical specialty area in which they practice from an accredited program and eligibility for medical staff credentialing required (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
  • 0 years minimum of 0 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of clinical specialty and services

Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) (Required)
  • Licensure in the state(s) of clinical practice
  • CDS in state(s) of clinical practice
  • DEA (Required) Or
  • Active national certification with governing body such as PNCB, ANCC, or AANPCB
  • Active national certification with NCCPA
Functional Accountabilities
Clinical
  • Assesses, diagnoses, and monitors clinical status of each patient utilizing evidence‑based practice and medical knowledge
  • Develop appropriate plan of care
  • Writes patient care orders, prescribes therapy, and provides necessary home care orders as needed
  • Identifies significant changes in patient status using physical exam, lab values, diagnostic tests, and patient/family input
  • Differentiates between normal and abnormal findings
  • Perform procedures as needed after obtaining appropriate credentialing
  • Participates in and/or leads multidisciplinary patient care
  • Is a clinical resource for patients, parents and the interdisciplinary team
  • Appropriately communicates and escalates clinical/administrative issues
  • Collaborates with nursing, medicine, and other members of the healthcare team to regularly ensure quality patient care
Administrative
  • Serves as a clinical preceptor to NP, CNS or PA students
  • Acts as a clinical resource for staff in patient care issues
  • Provides formal/informal educational presentation to staff on areas of expertise
  • Participates and leads quality improvement initiatives in their department
