UMC Health System in Texas seeks a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the UMC Gastroenterology team. The APP will work with a family of physicians, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with autonomy and collaboration.
Responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, and managing care, plus prescribing medications and tests, with weekend 4-hour shifts and 9 AM–3 PM Saturday/Sunday availability.

Description: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. This role partners closely with family and specialty medicine physicians to evaluate, diagnose, and manage conditions. The APP functions with a high level of autonomy and plays a key role in improving access, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

Additional duties as assigned
Works in well-lit, ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate needs in the department. Exposure of blood-borne pathogens is of high risk.
Work is of medium demand. Standing, walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patients, carts, and wheelchairs. Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Good tactile sensation is necessary for checking patients. Talking and hearing is essential in instructing and supervising nursing personnel and in receiving doctors’ orders and patient’s condition reports. Near visual acuity for accurate recording of patients’ charts.
