Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive outpatient clinic care in Dublin, Ohio. You will collaborate with physicians, perform histories and exams, order labs, and develop treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.

You will educate patients, coordinate care, review medications, and participate in triage and follow-up with providers. Ohio licensure and prescriptive authority are required.

Qualifications

• NP or PA license with prescriptive authority is required.
• Current Ohio RN license required.
• Master’s degree in nursing or PA program required.
• Prescriptive authority certification required.
• Knowledge of triage procedures and clinic/urgent care experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians under the direction of a Physician or Lead Physician.
• Provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Provide care during acute and chronic phases of illness.
• Educate and counsel individuals.
• Refer patients to healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate.
• Coordinate care for clinic patients.
• Perform history and physical examinations on new and return patients.
• Establish presumptive diagnoses and general patient workups.
• Order appropriate laboratory studies and testing.
• Formulate treatment plans and follow up with physicians.
• Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments.
• Develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols.
• Review and assess patient medications.
• Evaluate outcomes of care and initiate changes in the nursing approach.
• Triage clinic patient calls.
• Notify physicians of needs and follow up with patients according to provider instructions.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• NP: Current Ohio Registered Nursing License
• Master’s degree in nursing and successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program, or Physician Assistant Program
• Certification to include Prescriptive Authority
• Knowledge of triage procedures along with clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
• Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids
• Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
• Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
• Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
• Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
