Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work nights regularly scheduled.
  • Assist in evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Document care in medical records.
  • Conduct patient interviews, document histories, psychosocial factors, and health status.
  • Under physician supervision, perform physical exams and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, including cast application/removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
  • Assist physicians with diagnosis, care plans, and treatments.
  • Order and perform lab and diagnostic tests, such as urinalyses, pregnancy tests, blood tests, and x-rays.
  • Explain procedures to patients.
  • Coordinate with physicians for consultations and referrals.
  • Educate patients on health habits, self-exams, medication, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate on professional development plans.
  • Attend educational in-services and participate in professional activities.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Interpret diagnostic data to implement care plans.
  • Prepare research reports and analyses.
  • Train healthcare professionals and students.
  • Participate in organizational health committees.
  • Perform other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia and certification by ANCC or equivalent, or as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA.
  • Licensed in Georgia.
  • At least one year of experience in high-acuity clinical settings preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications required.
