Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the Transplant ICU on a rotating schedule, 40 hours per week, on-site at University Hospital.

The APP collaborates with transplant surgeons, intensivists, and a multidisciplinary team to provide high-acuity care for adult transplant patients, including liver and kidney recipients, practicing at the top of their license.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in Ohio.
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program eligible to sit for national certification.
• Master of Science Degree in Nursing.
• PA-C path requires eligibility for state licensure as PA-C.
• 0 years of relevant experience preferred for both NP and PA tracks.
• Experience in acute care or critical care preferred.

Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.**Position Summary**The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Working collaboratively with transplant surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams. The APP manages complex postoperative and medically fragile patients, including liver and kidney transplant recipients. The APP practices at the top of their license, providing direct patient care, performing advanced clinical assessments, managing critical illness, coordinating perioperative and postoperative care, and supporting continuity across the transplant service.
