Job description

Position Description:

The Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for inpatient services as a member of the Department of Anesthesiology.

The APP will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure a safe, quality care environment.

The APP functions as an intensivist within the Heart and Vascular ICU, managing all aspects of the patient's intensive care stay from admission to transfer, including medical management of cardiac surgical, advanced heart failure, and cardiac surgical patients.

Preferred Experience:

2 years as an APP and/or RN in Critical Care, or experience with Cardiac Mechanical Circulatory Support, ICU, and high-acuity rotations for a PA-C.

Schedule:

Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Completion of a CCNE/NLNAC-approved NP program
  • Wisconsin RN and APNP licensure
  • Certification as Nurse Practitioner
Physician Assistant:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited PA program
  • Wisconsin licensure and NCCPA certification
  • Relevant clinical experience, including critical care, preferred
