POSITION SUMMARY: The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) manages emergency medicine patients, including biological, social, and psychological assessments. The APP coordinates with medical/surgical specialty teams, reviews care plans, performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, and manages discharge planning and follow-up. The APP also participates in educating residents and medical/nursing students, providing healthcare services as per state law and licensing requirements.
Manage comprehensive care for emergency medicine patients, including evaluations, diagnostics, collaboration with medical teams, discharge planning, and education. Other duties include participating in research, quality improvement, and community programs, documenting patient care, and providing leadership and education to staff.
Work requires strength and stamina, including lifting and moving patients or equipment over 40 pounds, standing, walking, and working around biohazards and infectious diseases.
Work involves close collaboration with staff, working irregular hours, and exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, and potentially working near deceased patients or with water and electrical equipment.
