Job summary

Foley Cancer Center in Rutland, VT is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join its cancer care team. You will work across outpatient, inpatient, ED, and telehealth settings providing comprehensive oncology care in collaboration with physicians.

The role requires an NP or PA with relevant certifications and at least 2 years of oncology experience; Vermont licensure or ability to obtain it is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing and Vermont nursing license.
• NCCPA certification for PA pathway, or ANCC certification for NP path.
• Minimum 2 years NP/PA oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive oncology care under physician supervision.
• Obtain histories and perform focused exams.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage oncology-related conditions and side effects.
• Interpret tests and labs; develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families; coordinate care across settings.
• Document accurately and participate in quality improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. No weeknight call; one weekend per month on-call coverage.

Location: Rutland, Vermont

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Foley Cancer Center within a respected community hospital. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive oncology care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment across outpatient clinic, inpatient, emergency department, and telehealth settings.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive oncology patient care under collaborative physician partnership
• Obtain detailed medical histories and perform focused physical examinations
• Assess, diagnose, and manage oncology-related conditions and treatment side effects
• Interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory findings
• Develop and implement treatment and symptom management plans
• Provide patient and family-centered education and counseling
• Coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and clinical communication
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

For Nurse Practitioners:

• Master’s degree in Nursing
• Registered with the Vermont State Board of Nursing
• National certification through ANCC or equivalent

For Physician Assistants:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program
• Registered with the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice
• NCCPA certification

For All Candidates:

• Minimum 2 years of NP or PA experience in oncology or related specialty preferred
• Vermont licensure (or ability to obtain)
• Unit-specific certifications as required (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC as applicable)
• Completion of patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint certification per department guidelines
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems
