Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our outpatient neurology team. The role focuses on general neurology care with collaboration under physician supervision to deliver high-quality, patient-centered services.

The position is 5 days a week with standard office hours, no weekend shifts or on-call responsibilities. The Neurology Institute houses eight neurologists and advanced practice providers, offering

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• National APRN Certification OR board certification as Physician Assistant.
• Current Florida PA or APRN license.
• BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage chronic conditions such as dementia, headaches, movement disorders.
• Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-ups.
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients on prevention, lifestyle changes, and medications.
• Coordinate care with other providers and specialties.
• Document encounters in the EMR accurately.
• Maintain compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines.

The Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute at Holy Cross Health is home to 8 Neurologists, 2 Neurosurgeons, 2 Interventional Neuroradiologists and 8 Advanced Practice Providers, providing a vast array of neurological services including multi-disciplinary clinics for ALS and Parkinson’s Disease. Our service line also includes Neuro Critical Care, Interventional Spine and Pain, and an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. We are a Joint Commission certified Thrombectomy-capable stroke center.

Position is for M-F office hours without call or weekends required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive Neurological assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage chronic conditions such as dementia, headaches disorders, movement disorders, radiculopathy, and peripheral nerve disease.
• Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Provide patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management
• Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS
