Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse for the Medical ICU to deliver high-quality patient care and support organizational goals. You will work closely with physicians and leadership to optimize outcomes, participate in quality initiatives, and contribute to educational activities.

The role requires NJ RN licensure, a Master's in Nursing, specialty certification with privileges, ACLS and BLS/HCP, and at least 2 years of field experience.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• Current RN licensure in New Jersey and board-certified privileges.
• Certification within specialty and granted privileges by medical staff.
• NRNNP/C or RNCNS/C certifications are preferred/required.
• ACLS required; BLS/HCP required; ACLS varies by setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice nursing care in ICU in collaboration with physicians.
• Improve clinical outcomes and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Participate in educational programs and peer review processes.
• Maintain current clinical knowledge and competencies.

Job Description

The Advanced Practice Nurse provides high quality, cost-effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals.The Advanced Practice Nurse establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders in a competent manner that is consistent with medical practice and joint protocols as established with the collaborating physician. This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner, managing and utilizing resources optimally. By demonstrating compassion and respect for the individual, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides care that meets the customers expectations.The Advanced Practice Nurse works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration and staff to improve clinical outcomes. This position participates in quality improvement efforts organization-wide and plays an active role as a member of the appropriate divisional and departmental committees. The Advanced Practice Nurse maintains current technical knowledge and seeks educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency.The Advanced Practice Nurse contributes towards the organizations educational programs and teaching activities. QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: Masters degree in nursing from an accredited school or as grandfathered by NJ Law required.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey and certified by the State Board of Nursing. Certification within area of specialty required and granted privileges from medical staff. NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered. ACLS also required APG Cardiology. ACLS is not required in Urgent Care settings. ACLS is required in Heart Failure. BLSHCP required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years experience in field of specialty as RN in State of . Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens, and potential injury.Physical demands include but are not limited to considerable stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-30 lbs frequently.The department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPThis Advanced Practice Nurse collaborates with the physician and reports to the appropriate Administrator.
