Job summary

Mind Body Optimization is seeking a highly experienced PMHNP to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a fast-paced setting. You will conduct evaluations, diagnose, and create personalized treatment plans that may include therapy and medications.

The role emphasizes collaboration with a diverse care team, patient education, and strict documentation in the EHR. Qualified candidates hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with PMHNP licensure and 5–10 years in healthcare/mental health

Qualifications

• Education: advanced nursing degree (MSN/DNP) with PMHNP credential.
• Licensure as PMHNP in applicable state is required.
• Clinical experience in mental health and administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including history and mental status exams.
• Develop diagnoses and personalized treatment plans with therapy and meds.
• Manage psychotropic regimens, titration, and monitoring for efficacy/side effects.
• Provide crisis intervention and perform risk assessments as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Care:

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
• Formulate accurate psychiatric diagnoses and develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating therapy and medication management that may include pharmacological and/or non-pharmacological interventions.
• Manage psychotropic medication regimens, including initiation, titration, and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments for patients experiencing acute mental health issues.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Participate in case consultations and team meetings to review treatment plans and progress.
• Refer patients to higher levels of care or additional services as needed, ensuring continuity of care.

Patient Education & Advocacy

• Educate patients and families about psychiatric conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and self-care strategies.
• Advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system and community resources.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in psychiatric practice.
• Monitor and address issues related to prescribing controlled substances in alignment with DEA and state guidelines.

Professional Development:

• Stay current on advancements in psychiatric care through continuing education, professional memberships, and clinical supervision.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.

QualificationsEducation: Masters’ or Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing. High school diploma required.

Experience: 5-10 years of healthcare/mental health administration experience preferred.

Licensure: Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or PMHNP-BC).

Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DHS, State Regulations, and Federal Regulatory Standards. Complete TB testing, Drug Screening, and Background check upon hire.
