Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA seeks an ARNP/PA-C to provide evaluation and medical management for adult hematology patients across service lines. You will monitor during chemotherapy, provide supportive care, and coordinate care with the treatment team on multiple campuses.

The role requires a Master’s degree, WA license, and ARNP/PA-C certification with experience in hematology/medical oncology.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program awarding a Master's degree.
• Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
• DEA license upon credentialing/start.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire.
• One year of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology or Hematology.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex and problem-focused H & P's.
• Evaluates and manages on-treatment and post-treatment side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues.
• Performs procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice.
• Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care.
• Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research.
• Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education.
• Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of multiple service lines of adult hematology patients at Fred Hutch. They follow patients during their chemotherapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. The Float ARNP/PA-C may work on a variety of hematology teams, at any of the Fred Hutch campuses, to assess and manage basic health needs of patients, address treatment toxicities, perform procedures, monitor for cancer progression or recurrence, and consult with professional peers as needed. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

Required:

The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984 to $200,678, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
