Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP training program awarding a Master’s degree.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
  • DEA license upon credentialing/start.
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation and medical management for GI oncology patients.
  • Follow patients during chemotherapy and post-operative care, provide medical supportive care.
  • Monitor for cancer progression or recurrence and manage treatment toxicities.
  • Perform procedures within licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate care and participate in cancer clinical research.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and peers; communicate with inpatient and outpatient teams.
  • Participate in rounds, conferences and committees; other duties as assigned.

Overview

The ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management to GI Oncology patients and patients at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. They follow patients during their chemotherapy, post operative care, provide medical supportive care, and surveillance after completion of treatment. The ARNP/PA-C assesses and manages basic health needs of patients, addresses treatment toxicities, performs procedures, monitors for cancer progression or recurrence, and consults with professional peers as needed. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for complex patients with GI malignancies in curative and end of life settings.
  • Performs complex and problem-focused H & P's
  • Evaluates and manages on-treatment and post-treatment side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues.
  • Performs procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice
  • Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care.
  • Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research
  • Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education
  • Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams
  • Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program awarding a Master's degree. Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
  • DEA license upon credentialing/start.
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • One year of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $131,000 to $201,456, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
