Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Inpatient Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to deliver high-quality care to hospitalized oncology patients. This role works with attending physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other professionals to manage complex oncologic conditions and treatment-related needs.

The APP will perform patient assessments, diagnose, plan treatment, and manage ongoing care per established protocols and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited PA/NP program.
• Current Florida PA/APRN license.
• Certification: APRN or PA national board.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical exams, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage acute and chronic oncologic conditions and treatment-related toxicities.
• Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and discharge planning.
• Order and interpret lab studies, diagnostic testing, and procedures.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians.
• Coordinate care with oncologists, palliative teams, radiology, pharmacy, and case management.
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and goals of care to patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations , interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage acute and chronic oncologic conditions including solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, treatment-related toxicities, and oncologic emergencies.
• Assist with hospital rounding, consults , and discharge planning.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing , and procedures
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Participate in care coordination with oncologists, palliative care teams, radiology, pharmacy, and case management
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Facilitate communication with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and goals of care
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Bone Marrow Biopsies a plus
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record
