Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Inpatient Medical Oncology team. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• National board certification as a PA or APRN.
• Current Florida PA or APRN license.
• BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of results.
• Manage inpatient oncologic conditions, treatment-related toxicities, and emergencies.
• Assist with rounds, consults, and discharge planning for oncology patients.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging as appropriate.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians.
• Coordinate care with oncologists, palliative care, radiology, pharmacy, and case management.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Communicate diagnoses and goals of care with patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Position Summary

The Inpatient Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider provides comprehensive, high-quality care to hospitalized oncology patients. This role functions collaboratively with attending physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals to manage complex oncologic conditions, treatment-related complications, and supportive care needs. The APP is responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management in accordance with established clinical protocols and evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage acute and chronic oncologic conditions including solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, treatment-related toxicities, and oncologic emergencies.
• Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and discharge planning.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, and procedures
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Participate in care coordination with oncologists, palliative care teams, radiology, pharmacy, and case management
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Facilitate communication with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and goals of care
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Bone Marrow Biopsies a plus
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record
