Qualifications

Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) II to join our team! This full-time role is based at Dallas Sammons, 3410 Worth St., Dallas, TX, supporting Inpatient Hematology.

The position level (1, 2, or Sr) will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Role and Responsibilities

The APP will provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with physicians, impacting patient outcomes across the care continuum. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient care in outpatient/inpatient/surgical settings, including documentation, education, diagnostics, medication management, symptom control, and referrals.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams and adhering to compliance standards.
  • Using Electronic Health Records proficiently.
  • Participating in tumor boards, training, and meetings.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist program, with appropriate licensure and certification, and experience levels as specified:

  • Nurse Practitioner: MSN, RN licensure, BLS/CPR, experience 0-3 years (Level 1), 3+ years (Level 2), 6+ years (Sr).
  • Physician Assistant: NCCPA certification, state license, BLS/CPR, experience levels as above.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist: MSN, licensure, BLS/CPR, experience levels as above.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs, standing, walking, and manual dexterity. The environment involves exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards typical of an oncology/hematology setting, with accommodations available for disabilities.
