Overview

Job Summary: Participates in team-focused patient care through examinations, diagnostic, and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in medical and surgical settings. The clinician operates under the regulatory standards of their licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental credentialing from the institution.

Education/Experience
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's degree preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
  • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License.
  • Certification by NCCPA.
Essential Functions
  1. Utilize medical decision-making skills to develop appropriate patient care plans.
  2. Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
  3. Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
  4. Perform procedural skills as per department or practice guidelines.
  5. Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
  6. Precept students and medical learners when possible.
  7. Uphold AHWFB's mission, values, and cultural commitments.
  8. Perform other duties incidental to the role.
