Overview

1.0 FTE. 80% of work performed September–May (about 3–4 shifts per week). 20% of work performed June–August: 12‑hour shifts (7a‑7p or 9a‑9p). Weekends required (approx. every third weekend). One summer and one winter holiday required annually. Competitive benefits package and pay based on experience level.

Job Description Summary

Provides healthcare to individuals or groups requiring knowledge and skill obtained from advanced formal education, certification, and clinical experience. Practices within professional scope and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the profession’s Code of Ethics while maintaining a current Ohio Advanced license.

Essential Functions
  • Assess patients and/or populations; develop, implement and evaluate plans of care; document and communicate information clearly in written and verbal forms.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for patient care.
  • Utilize evidence‑based practice and serve as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
  • Assist in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members.
  • Engage in the community of the work unit by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, and engaging in quality improvement.
  • Leverage technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes.
  • Commit to continued professional development of self and others.
  • Contribute to division and/or specialty goals and the hospital strategic plan.
Education Requirement

Master of Science degree or equivalent provision.

Licensure Requirement

Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio.

Certifications

Maintain national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci for the position, or PA.
