Job summary

Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, MT is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hospitalist team.

You will work with more than 30 providers to deliver high-quality patient care and an exceptional patient experience, collaborating with APPs, care management, ICU and ED. The role is full-time with a competitive compensation package, relocation and loan repayment options, and opportunities for mentorship in a Level 1 Trauma Center,

Qualifications

  • Active PA or NP license by the MT State Board.
  • Prescriptive Authority by MT state board of Nursing or Medical Examiners and DEA license.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of employment (site specific).
  • Excellent communication skills within a multi‑functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function successfully in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.
  • Experience with computers, Microsoft and Google products; ability to learn new applications.
  • Passion for hospital medicine.
  • 1‑3 years of experience as a provider.
  • Nights required.

Responsibilities

  • See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and listening in emergency situations
  • Use manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy; frequent computer use and typing for documentation and medication preparation
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; bend, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items; navigate crowded and busy rooms
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time

Job Description

This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is responsible for delivering optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; educating the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others; consulting with other healthcare providers; and maintaining current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

About This Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our Hospitalist group, you will work collaboratively with 30+ additional providers to provide top‑notch care and a superior patient experience. Throughout the day you will collaborate with other APPs, care and case management, the ICU, and the ED.
