Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for full-time night shifts in the Surgical team at Clara Maass Medical Center. The APP coordinates care with the attending physician and delivers high-quality pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.

Responsibilities include initial surgical evaluations in ER and inpatient, pre-op and post-op management, wound care, and occasional first assisting.

Qualifications

• APN/NP with current certification and NJ RN license.
• CDS and DEA registrations are required.
• BLS/ACLS current; RNFA preferred if surgical assist included.
• PA must hold NCCPA certification and NJ PA license.

Responsibilities

• Initial surgical consultations in the ER and inpatient units.
• Pre-operative management and post-operative rounding.
• Wound care and occasional surgical first assisting.
• Work to the full extent of licensure with supervised autonomy.

Job Overview:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician

The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee

The main function of this role is to provide high-quality pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients

The APP will be expected to function as an active member of the surgical team

Responsibilities include initial surgical consultations in the ER and inpatient, pre-operative management, post-operative rounding, wound management and occasional surgical first assisting

The APP will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy

QUALIFICATIONS:
