Job summary

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our primary care team at Eagle Harbor Primary Care in Carrollton, Virginia. You will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in a collaborative practice environment supported by experienced clinicians.

The position requires NP or PA credentials with Virginia licensure and national certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant degree and licensure in Virginia.
• Current Virginia NP or PA license and national certification(s) where applicable.
• Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and develop evidence-based care plans.
• Experience with prescribing medications in accordance with Virginia regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan
• Assess health status and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory testing
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia regulations
• Counsel and educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, preventive care, and disease management
• Review and analyze diagnostic results and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
• Manage wellness visits, preventive screenings, and follow‑up care
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient encounters and clinical findings within the electronic medical record

Hiring Range: $115,000 - $150,000 Actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations

Education Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Virginia Nurse Practitioner license
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification
• Physician Assistant Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current Virginia Physician Assistant license

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia
• Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license with appropriate specialty designation
• National certification in applicable specialty: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC or FNP-C)
• Physician Assistant Active, unrestricted Virginia Physician Assistant license
• Current NCCPA certification

Prescriptive Authority Requirements

• Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration
• Eligibility for Schedule II–VI prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent clinical decisions regarding patient care
• Experience diagnosing and treating common acute and chronic medical conditions
• Working knowledge of managed care and Medicare populations
