Job summary

Brown University Health in Providence, RI seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department team. You will participate in diagnosis, treatment and disposition with compassionate and courteous service.

You will work with Emergency Physicians, obtain histories, perform exams, coordinate tests, and prepare patients for discharge while delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and PA-C certification.
  • NP track with master's from an accredited program acceptable.
  • Ability to work independently and with Emergency Physicians.

Job description

Summary

Reporting to Chief of Emergency Medicine and working as part of the Emergency Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient histories
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission
  • Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Coordinate tests and consultations
  • Implement treatment plans which includes communicating with referring and consulting physicians
  • Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members ;color:redaboutstreatment and medical care
  • Prepare patients for discharge
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our Emergency Physicians.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Fast-paced, interactive, team-oriented Emergency Department environment with a diverse range of patients and pathology.

INDEPENDENT ACTION: Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge and skills acquired through education, certification and work experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None.

Pay Range: $127,504.00-$161,782.40
