Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for their new Career Launch Program. This program will support APRNs in obtaining dual certification in the Adult and Pediatric Regional Burn Institute through a partnership with Case Western Reserve University. Participants benefit from 100% prepaid tuition, mentorship opportunities, and must commit to three years of service in the burn unit following program completion. Ideal candidates will hold active RN and APRN licenses, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to complete three years of service at the hospital post-certification.
• Strong commitment to burn care.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Career Launch Program to obtain dual certification.
• Complete the Career Launch application and meet role requirements.
• Maintain full-time employment in the Burn Unit during the program.

Skills

Current certification as Acute Adult-Gerontology APRN or Acute Pediatric APRN

Advanced Practice Provider Career Launch Program – Adult and Pediatric Regional Burn Institute at Akron Children's Hospital

Are you an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse looking to expand your clinical expertise and advance your career in a highly specialized setting?

Akron Children's Hospital is launching an exciting new APP Career Launch Program designed to develop dual-certified APRNs for the Adult and Pediatric Regional Burn Institute. This unique opportunity supports currently certified and soon to be certified Acute Adult-Gerontology or Acute Pediatric APRNs in obtaining dual certification through a Post-Master's Certificate Program with Case Western Reserve University. Selected candidates will receive an APP position within the Burn Institute upon entry into the program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure
• Current certification as either:
  • Acute Adult-Gerontology APRN, or
  • Acute Pediatric APRN

• Current BLS certification

Participant Expectations

• Apply and gain acceptance into the applicable Post-Master's Certificate Program through Case Western Reserve University.
• Maintain their budgeted FTE in the Burn Unit during the program
• Remain in good academic standing
• Earn a grade of B or higher
• Complete Three (3) years of service in the Adult and Pediatric Regional Burn Institute at Akron Children's Hospital after program completion
• Repayment may be required if program obligations are not met
