Intermountain Health in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. You will be the first assist in cardiac/thoracic procedures, support ICU and telemetry rounds, and manage postoperative patients in clinic and hospital settings.

The role requires 2+ years as a First Assist PA/NP in CT Surgery, CO license or eligibility, and endoscopic vein harvesting proficiency; a competitive salary with sign-on and relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Licensed as PA or NP in CO or able to obtain license.
• DEA and full prescriptive authority in CO.
• Minimum of 2 years as First Assist PA/NP in CT Surgery.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with endoscopic vein harvesting for bypass procedures.

Responsibilities

• First assist in cardiac/thoracic surgeries; manage ICU/telemetry/discharges and post-op care.
• Provide post-op clinic coverage and rounding; participate in 24-hour call and weekend rounding.
• Collaborate with CT Surgery team and other advanced practice providers.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside three Cardiothoracic Surgeons and a collaborative team of advanced practice providers while practicing at the top of your license in a comprehensive surgical role.From first assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic procedures to managing patients across the ICU, telemetry units, clinic, and postoperative settings, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding surgical outcomes and patient experiences.Clinical Practice DetailsYou would practice at our CT Surgery clinic and Intermountain Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CORotating schedule with 4 total PAs, including 24-hour call coverage and weekend roundingOccasional call and rounding at St. Joseph Hospital , a sister facility in DenverFirst assist in cardiac/thoracic surgeries; minimal vascular case load including dialysis accessOn average, one case per dayMUST have proficiency in endoscopic vein harvestingPlace foley catheters and invasive linesTeam responsibilities include ICU/ telemetry rounding, discharges and first assist coverage for all casesClinic coverage for post-op patientsWhat you’ll bringWe hire people, not words on paper.
