Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver comprehensive care to blood and marrow transplant and immunotherapy patients in both hospital and clinic settings. You will perform assessments, manage treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include performing procedures such as bone marrow aspirations and lumbar punctures, ordering diagnostics, and providing donor follow-up care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant training program or Nurse Practitioner program and licensed in WA.
  • National Certification appropriate for the profession.
  • Licensed for schedule II drug authority.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience with long-term patient relationships preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for blood and marrow transplant and immunotherapy patients in inpatient and outpatient settings under supervision.
  • Manage primary care aspects: history, exam, triage and treatment plans.
  • Review and order diagnostic studies, radiographs and prescribed treatments.
  • Perform bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures and assist with bone marrow harvests.

Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides care for blood and marrow transplant patients and immunotherapy patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings under the supervision of the attending physician. The APP is responsible for the primary care of the patient to include assessment, triage and management of the transplant patient as part of a collaborative transplant team. Responsibilities include obtain medical history, perform physical examinations, review and order diagnostic studies, radiographs and prescribe treatments. APPs perform bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures and are first assists with Bone Marrow Harvests and provide follow-up care of bone marrow donors under the supervision of attending physician.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant training program or appropriate Nurse Practitioner program and be able to practice in the state of Washington (licensed).
  • Have National Certification as appropriate for profession.
  • Must be licensed for schedule II drug authority.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must enjoy long-term relationships with patients undergoing intense therapy.

Preferred:

  • Oncology or BMT experience preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $140,000 to $210,752, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
