Advanced Practice Provider – AHN Express Care Erie (Weekends)
GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Advanced Practice Providers at Allegheny Health Network are integral to our care delivery system, providing primary or acute healthcare services for both acute and chronic conditions. Our team works collaboratively to create a healing environment, placing customers first and upholding the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform comprehensive patient histories, review records, and conduct thorough physical examinations.
- Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate to the patient’s condition.
- Make medical diagnoses and implement appropriate therapy within the scope of practice.
- Provide timely documentation to support medical coding and billing while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Give accurate instructions and guidance regarding medical care to patients and families.
- Record and report pertinent information in EMR, and communicate with attending physicians as required.
- Perform hospital rounds and document progress notes during patient care events.
- Administer emergency measures in acute situations such as cardiac arrest, hemorrhage, or shock.
- Maintain mandatory continuing education and participate in medical education, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with the medical staff office and uphold the organization’s mission statements.
- Follow specialty‑specific procedures and expectations as outlined in privileged job agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate from an ARC‑PA accredited program OR a Pennsylvania Board of Nursing‑approved Master’s or Post‑Master’s program.
- Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license OR current Pennsylvania CRNP license and current Pennsylvania RN license.
- CRNPs must obtain Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority license within 60 days of hire.
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners (AANP or ANCC).
- CPR certification (American Heart Association).
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred:
- 1–3 years of department‑specific experience.
- ACLS certification.
- DEA license.
