Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) for General Cardiology at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. The role is full-time with four 10-hour shifts and required Q8 weekend coverage. You will work under a collaborating physician to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care in clinic and hospital settings.

Preferred candidates have cardiology experience; new grads are welcomed. Licensure in IL, Master's degree in a specialty, and BLS/CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• APN or PA licensure in IL required.
• Master's level program in specialty area completed.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Prior APN/PA experience or cardiology exposure preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under direction of collaborating physicians.
• Order imaging, labs, and diagnostic procedures and interpret results.
• Instruct patients on therapies and perioperative instructions.
• Maintain records and progress notes; follow patients in clinic and hospital.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate.
• Collaborate with health care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

$59.78 - $83.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/week)
• Hours: (4) 10-hour weekday shifts between 7:00AM - 5:00PM. Q8 weekend and 1 holiday per year required. No call.

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) - General Cardiology! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures, and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of Master's level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience: Prior APN/PA experience and/or experience in cardiology preferred, but motivated new graduates interested in the specialty welcomed to apply.
