Job summary

Grady Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, and interpret tests in the ICU setting. The APP prescribes treatments and collaborates with the ICU team to manage critically ill patients.

Expect autonomous practice within a multidisciplinary environment, focusing on continuous improvement and high-quality patient care. Licensure and certifications per Georgia regulations are required for NP/PA roles.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required as APN or PA.
• Two+ years critical care nursing or ICU/Physician Assistant experience.
• Current Georgia RN license for NPs and NP/PA certification.
• APRN/PA certification in critical care preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in acute and chronic illness care.
• Manages care for critically ill patients on the ICU team under supervision.
• Collaborates with ICU physicians and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory test, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness in care of the critically ill patient. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the APP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and community advocacy to holistically care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the ICU team with the primary responsibility of managing a caseload of critically ill patients under the supervision of the ICU supervising physician.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse or Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or, the Academy of Physician's Assistants Required
• Two (2) or more years or experience as a critical care nurse or two (2) years serving as a Physician Assistant
• Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required for NPs
• Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician's Assistant, specializing in critical care services for in-patient setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required
